Job summary

ISG is seeking a Senior Substation Relay and Controls Engineer to lead the design and delivery of protection and control systems for high‑voltage substations supporting FirstEnergy. You will develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and equipment lists, serving as a technical resource for clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum years of experience in protection and control design for substations (senior level).
• Experience delivering high-voltage protection and control projects for transmission/distribution grids.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of protection and control systems for HV substations.
• Develop and review one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients to ensure safe, reliable, compliant designs.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Substation Relay and Controls Engineer to lead the design and delivery of protection and control systems for high-voltage transmission and distribution substations supporting one of ISG's longstanding clients, FirstEnergy. In this role, you will develop and review one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, equipment lists, and other critical design deliverables while serving as a technical resource for clients and project teams. You will solve complex engineering challenges, mentor junior staff, and help deliver safe, reliable, and compliant designs that support the electric grid.
