Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers, designers, and drafters on on-site substation design projects in Boise, ID. The role covers technical execution, scope and budget adherence, and client collaboration throughout the full project lifecycle.

Required are a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited), 10+ years of substation design experience, and PE certification.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical), ABET-accredited.
10+ years of substation engineering design experience.
PE certification for professional engineering licensure.
Proven experience leading engineering teams and mentoring staff.
Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
Experience supporting proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and documentation.
Background in business development and client relationship management.
Experience with EPC, field services, construction, or commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, designers, and drafters delivering substation design projects.
Oversee resource planning, performance management, and staff development.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to proposals, work scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and documentation.
Support engineering design teams throughout project lifecycles.
Coordinate with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor project KPIs and deliverables; ensure quality within time and budget.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
Participate in business planning, strategy, and execution; assist recruiting as needed.
