Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. in Addison, TX is seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer to lead testing and commissioning of electrical equipment in substations or generator plants.

The role involves directing relay, breaker, transformer testing, and training engineers/technicians in relay testing and substation commissioning. The ideal candidate will have experience with GE, SEL, ALSTOM, Schneider, Siemens, ABB relays, and the ability to develop testing documentation and lead project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience testing protection and control schemes with multiple relay brands (GE, SEL, ALSTOM, SCHNEIDER, SIEMENS, ABB).
• Develop standard testing documentation and training procedures for commissioning.
• Pursue NICET certification or equivalent as part of professional development.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications and drawings to understand substation purpose and functionality.
• Witness or perform DC functional tests prior to energization and in-service.
• Direct crews during critical work junctures (final commissioning and startup).
• Perform electrical testing including P&C control equipment.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and manage project resources and scheduling.
