Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks a studio engineer bridging design and engineering for innovative vehicle concepts in California.

5+ years of automotive experience and proficiency in CATIA V5 are required, along with excellent English and Korean communication. The role involves designing body structures, translating requirements into feasible 3D guides, and collaborating with Kia Design Center and global teams to deliver production-feasible concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of automotive engineering experience (studio experience preferred).
• Deep understanding of vehicle architecture, engineering feasibility, and production constraints.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Korean.
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer body structures and advanced packaging for concept programs.
• Create compelling technical concept proposals to drive new design solutions.
• Translate engineering requirements into 3D design guides with attention to feasibility, cost, and regulatory constraints.
• Coordinate with Kia/KIA and Hyundai teams to align design and engineering objectives.
• Create model check documents, compete design model analyses, and communicate results to design counterparts.
• Organize and manage 2D and 3D production data.
• Analyze concepts through 3D simulations and physical prototypes.
• Collaborate with design, digital modeling, and global engineering teams up to design freeze.
