Job summary

Premier Steel Structures is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Superintendent to oversee steel erection on commercial projects in Southern California. You will lead field crews, coordinate with engineers and project managers, and ensure safety, schedule, and quality standards are met.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years of structural steel construction experience, proficiency in reading blueprints, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural steel erection and supervision.
• Proven leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and job site safety protocols.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings/blueprints.
• Experience with cranes, rigging, welding, and bolting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of structural steel installation and erection.
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and ironworkers to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee site logistics, ordering equipment and sequence of installation.
• Conduct safety meetings and enforce OSHA standards to maintain a safe job site.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor and report progress, resolving issues that may impact schedule or budget.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and erection plans.
• Assist in field measuring steel scope.
• Maintain quality control standards and conduct inspections to ensure precision and structural integrity.
