Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a licensed engineer in a managerial role to lead multiple project teams through all development phases. The position emphasizes client relations, innovative design, and quality implementation in alignment with HKS standards.

The role requires extensive experience, leadership skills, and ability to travel as projects demand, with base salary information for Chicago and Washington DC locations used as a reference.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Typically 9+ years of experience.
• Firsthand and sustained experience in all phases of engineering and construction.
• Professional engineering licensure required (structural preferred).
• Sustainable design accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple structural project teams to ensure project design, delivery, and construction administration.
• Acts as client contact point and strengthens connections with clients about project needs and progress.
• Oversees implementation documents and coordinates with other disciplines.
• Establishes design solutions within project goals, budgets, and codes.
• Leads design processes from kickoff to construction administration and site visits.
• Provides guidance and motivation to teams and distributes lessons learned.
