Job summary

Job description

Your Opportunity

The Senior Structural Project Engineer works independently on small and medium projects and leads larger projects as a team leader for Structural Engineers. The role involves evaluating, selecting, and specifying engineered systems or products for a project.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects
  • Develop job‑specific specifications independently for less complex projects
  • Lead junior engineers on complex projects
  • Work with and coordinate architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines
  • Perform Construction Administration duties, including field observation reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders
  • Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
  • Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients
  • Understand industry standard design processes and construction methods
  • Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high client service
  • Assist with development of design standards
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas verbally and in written form to architects, engineers, and owner clients effectively
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 6 or more years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional Engineering license is required; Structural Engineering license is preferred
  • Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
  • Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)
Pay Range

$100,000.00 - $155,500.00 annually (approx.)
