Job summary

GROUP Contractors is seeking an experienced Iron Worker / Structural Fitter / Rigger to join our field teams. You will read blueprints, assemble and erect structural-steel components, and operate hoisting and rigging equipment.

Requirements include 3+ years of field experience as a Class-A Iron Worker / Structural Fitter, NCCER Certification or willingness to test, valid TWIC Card, OSHA Basic Plus, safety screenings, and a valid Driver’s License.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field experience as a Class-A Industrial Iron Worker / Structural Fitter.
• Must hold NCCER Certification or willing to test (Ironworker and/or Rigger).
• Must hold a valid TWIC Card and OSHA Basic Plus.
• Must pass all Safety Council related courses and pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging to move heavy materials.
• Bolt aligned structural-steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
• Drive drift pins through rivet holes to align holes in structural-steel members.
• Erect metal and precast concrete components for structures.
• Fasten structural-steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or rope.
