Job summary

An engineering consulting firm is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer in New York. This role involves leading assessments, developing reports, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate should have a Professional Engineer license in NY and NJ, and solid experience in structural inspections. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $114,500 to $166,100 annually, and includes a comprehensive benefits package, such as medical and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, focused on inspections and assessments.
• Experience with design of transportation structures is a plus.
• Ability to perform close-up inspections from lifts and bucket trucks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in the condition assessment of various structures.
• Develop technical reports with inspection findings.
• Prepare and present findings to stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to collect and analyze data.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform quality assurance checks.

Skills

Licensed or ability to obtain the Professional Engineer license in NY and NJ

Proficiency in inspection methods

Attention to detail

Strong oral and written communication skills

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Graduate Degree highly desired
