Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structures group on a temporary basis. This role involves supporting a range of structural projects across New England, with an opportunity for remote work in the MA/RI/NH region.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in structural design and be motivated to lead and mentor others. Compensation ranges from $55.00 to $81.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience, alongside a flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• 8-11 years of professional experience in structural bridge and building design required.
• Experience with construction phasing and complex projects is necessary.
• Knowledge of structural engineering software is a strong requirement.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement structural planning, analysis, and design.
• Manage tasks and review plans to meet project requirements.
• Prepare preliminary and final design documents.

Overview

Senior Structural Engineer | Temp / Part-time

VHB's structural engineering group plays a vital role in developing and enhancing connectivity through infrastructure projects such as complex bridge and interchange designs, rehabilitation and inspection, pedestrian walkways, and transit stations. This diverse range of structural engineering services helps improve mobility for the traveling public.

VHB is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Structures group on a temp/flexible basis. In this position, you would support the planning, analysis, and design of a diverse portfolio of structural projects across New England.

This role could be performed by a fully remote engineer who resides within the MA/RI/NH region and could travel to client sites when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, organize and implement structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation.
• Task management.
• Reviews plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

Our best estimate of the hourly rate for this position located in Boston/Watertown, MA is $55.00-$81.00 per hour, and the position located in Worcester, MA is $50.00-76.00 per hour. The final hourly compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
