Job summary

KPFF in Nashville seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of projects from concept through construction, while maintaining client relationships and mentoring teammates.

You will oversee engineering calculations and reports, ensure code compliance, and collaborate with architects, contractors, and BIM professionals, with growth opportunities in technical leadership or business development.

Qualifications

  • PE license is required; SE license preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with leadership.
  • Strong background in project management and client interaction.
  • Proficiency with ETABS, RAM, RISA 3D and codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and execution of structural projects from concept to construction.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budgets, and team resources.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor for engineers and BIM professionals.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and internal teams.
  • Oversee calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
  • Participate in assessments, feasibility studies, and site investigations as needed.

The Opportunity

KPFF is seeking an experienced, growth-oriented Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding Nashville office. This is an opportunity to continue building an established career while helping shape the future of a growing team and practice.

In this role, you will lead a diverse portfolio of structural projects from concept through construction, establish and help maintain existing client relationships, and collaborate with our engineers and BIM professionals across KPFF. What You'll Do

  • Help foster a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture focused on technical excellence and long-term growth
  • Support KPFF's vision of building strong teams, exceptional client relationships, and impactful engineering solutions
Professional Background
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering , Masters preferred
  • 8 or more years of progressive structural engineering experience, including leadership of complex projects and direct client interaction.
  • A strong background in project management, working alongside owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, RAM, and RISA 3D
  • Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC design standards
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for leadership, mentorship, and business growth
