Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
10 years of related experience in the structural engineering field.
RAM, ETABS, and SAP2000 knowledge; AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.

Responsibilities

Review and establish project scope, structural budget, and design approach with the Manager of Structural Engineering, Project Manager, and/or client.
Lead as project engineer for mid-size projects, guiding production, quality, budget, and schedule.
Apply latest code publications to everyday analysis and design.
Provide innovative design solutions and engineering judgment to the team.
Design and analyze structural framing systems and perform calculations.
Conduct field measurements to verify conditions on site.
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Coordinate with other disciplines for well-coordinated documents.
Review shop drawings to ensure design intent is met.
Maintain project files with calculations and correspondence.
Communicate scope changes to leadership and project manager.
Mentor less experienced engineers.
Use structural software to enhance productivity and verify results with manual checks.
