Job summary

DPR Construction in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a licensed Sr Structural Engineer to join our forward-thinking, self-performing team. You will develop drawings, specs, and calculations across project phases, using Tekla Structures and CAD tools to deliver accurate 2D/3D models within schedule and budget.

Collaborate with engineers, modelers, and stakeholders, leading construction administration activities including RFIs and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a structural focus is required.
• At least 6+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
• NCEES licensure maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and production of drawings, specifications, and calculations during a project’s design phase from conceptual design to construction documents under reduced supervision.
• Assist in review of deliverables to ensure scope and quality standards are met throughout the project’s life cycle.
• Assist in developing structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials using relevant codes.
• In collaboration with managers, lead construction administration activities including reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and site visits.
• Utilize CAD tools, including Tekla Structures, to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Assist project managers with cost tracking, scope management, and technical risk evaluation.
• Participate in professional development and opportunities for technical and process enhancements.
