Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to provide customer-oriented design and construction services to clients nationwide and in the Western Region. The position offers strong growth potential and involves direct collaboration with project teams across multiple offices.

Posting locations include Chicago, Lisle, Normal, Peoria, or Springfield, IL and St. Louis, MO, emphasizing building structures and related systems design and construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, with emphasis in structures
• 8–15 years of structural engineering experience
• PE or SE licensure preferred
• Experience with design and construction administration of building structures
• Experience with typical construction materials: steel, concrete, masonry or wood
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong multi-project management ability

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures and related systems
• Perform structural analysis and design for energy and industrial structures and related systems
• Develop construction documents and provide construction administration services
• Perform site visits, client meetings, and coordination with the project team
