Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the development of models, drawings, and specifications in Irvine, Los Angeles, Carlsbad, Sacramento or Concord offices. You will review designs for compliance with regulations and coordinate with other disciplines.

You will mentor junior staff, support sales with proposals, and contribute to technical papers while adhering to firm policies. Travel up to 10% may be required. A PE license and a bachelor's degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Frequency of travel varies by project.

Responsibilities

• Directs the development of models, drawings, and specifications.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
• Coordinates designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
• May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
