Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Sr. Structural Engineer to design, build and activate infrastructure enabling orbital launch capabilities. You will lead engineers across disciplines, perform design and analysis for steel and concrete, and manage contracts and field activities.

The role requires relocation if not local, intense collaboration, and a strong background in civil/structural engineering with familiarity in major codes. Excellent growth and long-term incentives offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience as an engineer with a focus in design or build of structural infrastructure.
• PE license preferred and beneficial.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software (SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, RISA-3D, Etabs).

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineers and third party engineers through civil and structural projects.
• Perform civil and structural design and analysis for steel and concrete.
• Develop drawings, calculations, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors.
• Manage civil and structural aspects of construction projects.
• Provide onsite inspections and field observations; resolve design conflicts.
