Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer for upstate New York. The candidate will be assigned to AECOM’s Transportation Business Line and will work on a variety of design-build civil engineering projects for local, state, and federal agencies and private sector clients. The candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to help the team meet project goals and comply with company standards. This individual will manage project or structure tasks on major projects and/or will supervise a number of professional engineers / entry-level engineers.

  • Provides technical leadership for a specialty.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
  • Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences.
  • Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work.
  • Utilizes advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
  • Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
  • Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering + 8 years of transportation experience.
  • Must have a PE.
  • Experience working with New York DOT (NYDOT) and/or New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) standards.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 10 years related experience.
  • Master Degree in Structural Engineering.
