The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and cost-effective. This includes buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and Analysis
- Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces and stamp own drawings
- Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness
- Work with design engineers to produce standard designs
- Project Management
- Be the single point of contact for all design engineers sending work out to multiple structural consultants
- Manage the workload to structural consultants with quickest turnaround in mind
- Participate in meetings with structural consultants to ensure that they have all necessary inputs and produce a high-quality stamped drawing
- Manage project timelines and budgets relative to structural analysis
- Support questions coming from construction site related to structural analysis
- Compliance and Standards
- Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
- Problem Solving
- Identify and resolve design and construction issues
- Provide technical advice and support during construction phases
- Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress
- Coaching new engineers in making cost effective and easy to manufacture designs
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in structural engineering or related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license

- Proficiency in structural analysis software and other engineering design tools
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
