Job summary

Conrad Consulting is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a PE license to lead the structural design of mid-rise and high-rise buildings. The role focuses on cast-in-place concrete design, project delivery, and mentoring a small team of engineers.

A hybrid schedule is available with options from Lawrence Township, NJ or Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience, strong communication with architects and clients, and a solid background in code-compliant analysis

Qualifications

• 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Strong design experience in cast-in-place reinforced concrete.
• Experience with mid-rise and high-rise buildings.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring small teams.
• Solid knowledge of structural analysis, codes, and documentation.

I’m working with an established structural engineering consultancy looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer, PE to its growing building structures team.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who wants to remain heavily involved in technical building design, while taking on greater responsibility for project delivery and the management of a small engineering team.

The firm works on a diverse portfolio of building projects, with particular strength in mid-rise and high-rise construction, multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality and commercial developments. The successful engineer will have significant experience designing cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures and will be comfortable leading projects from concept through construction.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take responsibility for the structural design and delivery of complex building projects while providing technical direction to junior and project-level engineers.

You’ll be involved in:

• Leading the structural design of mid-rise and high-rise building projects
• Designing cast-in-place reinforced concrete framing systems, foundations and associated structural elements
• Performing and reviewing structural analysis, calculations and engineering documentation
• Managing multiple projects through design and construction phases
• Leading and mentoring a small team of structural engineers
• Reviewing calculations, drawings and technical deliverables produced by junior engineers
• Coordinating directly with architects, contractors, developers and other engineering disciplines
• Providing technical input during construction, including RFIs, submittals and field-related design issues
• Supporting project planning, schedules, budgets and overall delivery
• Contributing to the continued development of the firm's structural engineering team

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of structural engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong building design experience within a structural engineering consultancy
• Significant experience with cast-in-place reinforced concrete design
• Experience working on mid-rise and/or high-rise buildings
• Previous experience leading projects and managing or mentoring small engineering teams
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, building codes and construction documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively with architects, contractors, clients and internal engineering teams
