Our national energy client is a leading provider of custom power augmentation and energy plant solutions serving the power generation, utilities, LNG, data center, biopharma, and industrial markets. For more than two decades, the organization has delivered innovative systems for turbine inlet air chilling (TIAC), combined heat and power (CHP), district cooling, and other advanced energy applications worldwide.

Position Summary

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of modular energy plant structures, ensuring they meet all structural and safety standards from concept through fabrication. This role plays a key part in developing complex projects such as TIAC, CHP, Mission Critical, and District Cooling Plants while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions. This position is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys a mix of technical design, problem‑solving, and project collaboration within a dynamic energy‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the structural design of modular energy plants, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
  • Conduct detailed structural analysis, including seismic and wind load calculations.
  • Coordinate with designers and external consultants to produce fabrication drawings and detailed design packages.
  • Provide technical guidance and review throughout the engineering lifecycle—from bid support to production and site installation.
  • Participate in cross‑functional project teams to develop and execute modular plant solutions.
  • Support business development teams by providing technical input, material estimates, and specification reviews during proposal stages.
  • Conduct factory and site visits to ensure structural integrity, quality, and compliance.
  • Assist with pipe stress analysis and determine structural and pipe support loads as needed.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as specifications, calculations, and design control documents.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to register in Florida.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines and managing design deliverables through all project phases.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency in STAAD or similar structural analysis software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Advance Steel modeling software.

Work Environment and Expectations

  • Typical work hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs and physical mobility for inspections.
  • Up to 15% travel expected, including local day trips.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and hold a valid passport.
