Job summary

Arcadis U.S. Inc. is seeking a senior structural engineer in the United States with a minimum of 10 years of experience and a PE license.

The role focuses on leading engineering programs, providing SME guidance to structural teams, and serving as Engineer of Record across diverse projects. Extensive collaboration with architects, owners, and subcontractors is required. Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience in the United States.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States; multiple state licenses preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes, wind and seismic design, and building codes.
• Experience with AutoCAD/REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Risa, and ETABS.
• Ability to communicate concepts clearly to diverse audiences of Architects, Engineers, and Owners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record; manage budgets, schedules, plans, and scopes of work; coordinate for timely completion and submission.
• Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, office staff, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project life cycle.
• Apply knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.) to project work.
• Perform construction administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittal reviews, and change orders.
• Travel for project-related activities such as client meetings, charettes, and site visits.

Role accountabilities:

• Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned engineering programs and initiatives. Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) technical guidance and oversight to structural engineers. Mentor and coach team members to be the best they can be
• Serve as Engineer of Record on projects to manage related budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, and manage plans, permit checklists, and scopes of work, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects
• Work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients, and subcontractors, throughout the project life cycle
• Have and apply a working knowledge of all building codes and standards, such as IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.
• Organize and conduct structural-related engineering investigations, develop calculations, plans, specifications, proposals, and other contract documents
• Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness, and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
• Independently perform Construction Administration duties, including completing field observation reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
• Travel and participate in project-related activities such as client meetings, charettes, and site visits, as required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience related to a range of projects within the United States
• Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure in the United States. Multiple state licenses are preferred.
• Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, wind and seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectively
• Functional knowledge and experience with AutoCAD/REVIT software, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Risa, ETABS, to name a few
• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$190,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
