Position Overview

Kiewit Power Engineering Group is seeking several Mid to Senior level Structural Designers to join our growing team!

In this role, the Structural Designers should have a good understanding of design modeling, design drawing/document creation, and data exchange using Building Information Modeling (BIM). Candidates are expected to have experience in foundation and steel design.

The ideal candidates will grow with the team by helping to establish, maintain, and improve standards and tools while contributing to project success.

Depending on experience, the position may be at a Mid-Level or Senior level. Candidates are expected to be a technical resource for less experienced designers and engineers. Candidates must be comfortable working closely with Structural Design Engineers and other discipline team members to drive coordination and collaboration.

This position can be based in any of the following office locations: Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and 15+ years of structural design experience using Tekla.

• Demonstrates ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.

• Displays leadership and confidence to monitor peers, especially those with less experience in drafting and design.

• Must have a basic knowledge of the latest computer operating systems.

• Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and in written form.

• Knowledge of basic spreadsheet, database, word processing programs.

• Must be able to represent Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. in a professional manner to owners, contractors, vendors and any other contacts outside the Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. organization.
