Job summary

Jacobs in California is seeking a Senior Structural CADD Designer to lead production of bridge and structural design plans from preliminary engineering through final design, mentoring junior designers and advancing digital delivery.

You will use MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise on multi-discipline projects across Caltrans and regional agencies, with a hybrid work policy and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of bridge and structural transportation design experience.
• Advanced proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and ProjectWise.
• Extensive experience developing bridge plans for highway, roadway, and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Caltrans standards, specifications, and plan production requirements.
• Ability to lead CAD production efforts on large, multidiscipline projects.
• Experience coordinating directly with engineers, project managers, and client teams.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

We're seeking a Senior Structural CADD Designer to play a key role in delivering bridge and structural transportation projects while mentoring junior designers and advancing digital delivery excellence. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to some of California's most complex bridge and transportation programs while collaborating with industry-leading engineers and project teams.

Location

This position will be based out of any of our California offices including Irvine, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Riverside, CA, Sacramento, CA, San Francisco, CA, Redding, CA, Oakland, CA, and San Diego, CA and may include travel to other local offices.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of bridge and structural transportation design experience

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

• Experience supporting Design-Build projects
• Proficiency with OpenBridge Modeler
• Experience with 3D modeling and BIM workflows
• Previous experience mentoring or leading design production teams
• Experience delivering transportation design projects for clients in Nevada, Oregon, or Washington state
• Familiarity with federally funded transportation projects

The base salary range for this position is $97,200.00 to $151,850.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
