Job summary

Bombardier in Mexico is seeking a Senior Specialist, Engineering, Stress to perform structural analysis on aircraft structures using FEM and hand methods, and to prepare substantiation reports.

You will work with cross-functional teams, review designs for load paths, and support certification activities with authorities such as FAA/EASA. The role requires 10+ years of stress engineering and proficiency in Patran/Nastran, CATIA V5, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent required.
• 10+ years of stress engineering experience.
• Proficient in FEM tools and CAE software.
• Experience with aircraft certification procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis using hand methods and FEM on metallic and non-metallic structures.
• Prepare formal engineering documentation (structural analysis reports, specs).
• Present design review material for meetings with suppliers and internal/external customers.
• Review designs for preliminary sizing of structural reinforcements and load path definitions.
• Support design process from conceptual to detail design.
• Write, review or approve substantiation reports for programs and certifying authorities (TCCA/FAA/EASA).
• Assess primary and secondary structures from a static strength perspective.
• Perform fatigue and damage tolerance assessments per mission profiles.
• MRB duties in support of operations.
