Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach to support SOF personnel in garrison, TDY/TAD, and deployed environments. You will lead program development, testing, and execution, focusing on performance, injury prevention, and safe training delivery.

The role requires extensive experience with elite athletes or SOF-like environments, advanced credentials, and the ability to coordinate with medical and nutrition teams for holistic outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Licensed therapist valid in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science, health science, or related discipline.
  • CSCS or CSCCA certification and CPR/AED certification are required.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Assists the leadership with the day-to-day running of the core functional areas to ensure compliance with the prime contract, all subsequent amendments, program business rules, as well as state and federal regulations.- Analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly reports for performance measurement and efficiencies- Participates with project and executive management to establish strategic plans, objectives, initiatives, and work plans- Assists the leadership in efforts to facilitate a functional, motivated, and cohesive project team- Directly supervises and manages key Project staff as determined by the leadership- Works with Project and executive management to develop, monitor and revise performance goals and objectives for the project and staff. Monitors achievement of those goals- Provides direction to team members and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner- Assists in the creation and implementation of innovative methodologies, process improvements and corrective action plans to continually streamline and improve project operations, outcomes, and quality.- Develops, modifies, and executes project policies, ensuring all project team members comply- Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position- Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management- Serve as the Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach when two (2) or more strength coaches are assigned to the same location, and perform administrative duties as directed by local POTFF leadership.- Serve as the lead representative for Strength and Conditioning for the Group, Regiment, Wing, or Unit when SOF Command or TSOC requires Component-wide representation.- Serve as the lead Strength Coach and subject matter expert (SME) for local development of requirements, performance testing, and execution of initiatives related to strength and conditioning.- Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance.- Design, administer, evaluate, and document the effects of physical training protocols for SOF personnel in garrison, TDY/TAD, or deployed environments under the supervision of the POTFF or Physical Domain Manager and/or Coordinator.- Customize and disseminate program designs efficiently to end users, using process efficiencies wherever possible.- Coordinate training programs with Physical Domain staff to support a safe and expeditious return to training for SOF personnel recovering from injury.- Refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment.- Communicate and collaborate with Sports Medicine professionals and/or the Bridge Coordinator to support a smooth transition from rehabilitation to performance-based activities.- Communicate and collaborate with cognitive performance and performance nutrition personnel to ensure a holistic approach to human performance.- Assist the POTFF or Physical Domain Manager and/or Coordinator in developing facility standard operating procedures, guidelines, and training protocols, including the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment.- Ensure equipment and facilities are properly cleaned, organized, utilized, and maintained in safe working condition.- Enhance and preserve the cognitive, physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of Service Members as a subject matter expert for this labor category.- Document services offered in HP enterprise-wide platforms, including HPDMS, as directed by USSOCOM Directive 10-12.- Perform additional duties assigned through local leadership, as documented and approved through local POTFF leadership.Minimum Requirements- Master's degree in relevant field of study and 7+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Current licensed therapist valid in the state of practice is required.- Education and licensure requirements are based on program contract requirements and are outlined in job posting- Bachelor's degree required in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline; master's degree preferred.- Minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrable accumulated experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach working with individual athletes and groups of athletes at NCAA Collegiate Division I, Olympic, professional sports, USAF CRAFT, USAF SWTW, and/or SOF Operator levels in the respective settings.- Paid, full-time experience as a government civilian or contractor at non-SOF Combat Arms, fixed-wing fighter units, U.S. Army H2F, and EOD units may count toward minimum qualification requirements, provided the experience was gained as a directly embedded, on-site staff member with the respective Army, Navy, Air Force, and/or Marine Corps entities.- Possess and maintain a current certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) credential through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA). Maintaining one of these certifications is an enduring requirement.- Maintain current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.- Be physically proficient in demonstrating all prescribed exercises and techniques and capable of meeting the physical demands of training with SOF personnel, including hiking over rough terrain, functioning in austere environments, and observing SOF training evolutions.Credentialing and PrivilegingThis position does not require a face-to-face interview.This position is not credentialed.Home Office Requirements- Maximus provides company-issued computer equipment.- Reliable high-speed internet service.* Minimum 20 Mpbs download speeds/50 Mpbs for shared internet connectivity.*Minimum 5 Mpbs upload speeds.- Private and secure workspace.#LI-HybridEEO StatementMaximus is an equal opportunity employer.
