Job summary

Civil and Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks a Stream Design Lead for our Nashville, TN office. You will lead restoration projects from planning through construction oversight, using natural channel design principles and technical drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will mentor staff in fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, hydraulics, and regulatory requirements while collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design success and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of civil/environmental engineering experience
• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer licensure in Tennessee or ability to obtain
• Design natural channels and wetlands restoration projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Lead design teams to produce final engineering designs and permit applications
• Review drawings and provide technical feedback
• Conduct stream and wetland construction inspections and on-site oversight

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of stream and wetland restoration projects using natural channel design principles
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Mentor junior staff on fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, hydraulics, and regulatory standards
• Conduct and oversee field work to support design and ensure construction compliance
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal project teams to deliver projects
• Support business development to grow the stream and wetland restoration practice
