Job summary

The City of Hillsboro is seeking a Senior Sanitary and Stormwater Operations Technician to oversee field operations, inspect and maintain vegetated stormwater facilities, and operate mowing equipment and hand tools. The role includes lead-worker responsibilities, safety oversight, and participation in emergency response during severe weather.

Ideal candidates enjoy outdoor work, plant care, and customer service, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required and two years of related work experience including lead worker responsibilities.
• Experience leading a team and coordinating daily field operations is preferred.
• Experience with outdoor maintenance and customer service in a municipal setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and operation of equipment for assigned areas.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day work of assigned personnel.
• Inspect roads, grounds, facilities, pipelines, and equipment for safety and maintenance needs.
• Set up work areas, ensure traffic safety, and manage after-hours on-call duties.
• Maintain records and assist in emergency response planning and execution.
• Locate utilities and maintain stormwater and sanitary systems as assigned.
