Job summary

Jobtailor in Phoenix is seeking an experienced steel estimator to accurately scope structural and miscellaneous steel, perform take-offs, price bids, and prepare clear proposals. You will follow up on bids, negotiate terms, and cultivate contractor and client relationships while representing the company at meetings, site visits, and industry events.

This role requires 5+ years of estimating for commercial or industrial projects, the ability to manage multiple active estimates under tight

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience estimating structural and/or miscellaneous steel for commercial or industrial projects
• Comfortable managing several active estimates at once against tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to write clear, compelling proposals
• Comfortable splitting time between office and field work in the Phoenix area
• Working knowledge of Tekla or similar estimating software (preferred)
• Proficiency in Excel and Word (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Estimate structural and miscellaneous steel scopes
• Perform take-offs and pricing
• Prepare clear, professional bid proposals
• Follow up on submitted bids
• Negotiate scope, pricing, and terms to close work
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors and clients
• Represent the company at meetings, site visits, and industry events
• Develop and manage a long-term pipeline of project opportunities
• Manage several active estimates at once against tight deadlines
• Split time between office and field work in the Phoenix area
• Work directly alongside the Chief Estimator while building client relationships and managing an independent pipeline
