Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Public Engagement Manager to lead strategic outreach and stakeholder engagement for customer delivery projects across an assigned territory. The role requires coordinating communications with technical and customer-facing teams, and operating independently.

The position involves field participation, collaboration with Government & Community Relations, and managing multiple external and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years related experience; or High School/GED with 7+ years related experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience in customer delivery, distribution operations, or utility industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders.
• Budget management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute public engagement strategies for projects.
• Prepare and distribute communications to property owners and stakeholders.
• Manage inquiries from external stakeholders.
• Inform internal stakeholders of project developments.
• Participate in meetings, field reviews, and on-site customer interactions.
• Coordinate with Government & Community Relations Managers on engagement approaches.
• Develop letters, presentations, and materials with internal teams.
• Oversee printing and distribution of external communications.
• Monitor stakeholder concerns and responses.
• Lead planning and execution of public information meetings.
