Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer focused on Android Connectivity to drive platform strategy and deliver advanced connectivity features for Android and Pixel devices. You will lead architecture, collaborate across teams, and shape the roadmap for next-generation wireless technologies.

You will mentor engineers, participate with device makers and carriers, and influence standards while delivering high-quality, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience with Android application development.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience with internet and cellular connectivity, mobile/voice/messaging networks/systems engineering, or operations.
  • 5 years of experience in Android OS development.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the technical goal, direction, and strategy for platform and pixel telephony, driving internet connectivity and cellular innovation forward.
  • Architect and define protocols, APIs, and algorithms for current devices to support seamless upgrades to future Android versions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, program management, and product management teams to produce high-quality solutions efficiently.
  • Drive internal AI transformation, completely rethinking how our organization builds, tests, and deploys software.
  • Provide domain leadership across Google and represent Android connectivity in industry alliances, setting standards for next-generation wireless technologies.

You will establish and execute a strategic technology roadmap to maintain Google's position at the forefront of connectivity innovation. This position requires strong direct technical expertise to deliver leadership across key initiatives.

US: $262000 - $364000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
