Job summary

Google LLC in New York, NY, USA, is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead AI Mode and AI Overviews Helpfulness, shaping strategy and architectures for high-impact ML systems. You will influence critical deployment and evaluation of AI features at scale.

You will collaborate across teams to deploy end-to-end ML workflows, optimize prompt quality, and drive live experiments that improve user-facing AI experiences.

Qualifications

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for whole-response helpfulness across AI mode and AI overviews.
• Architect scalable quality infrastructure and closed-loop self-improving systems that shorten the path from experiment to launch.
• Drive quality improvements out-of-model and in-model.
• Define how all aspects of our work (measurement, hill-climbing, upstreaming) should be adjusted to account for response aspects beyond text.
• Establish strong collaborations to align priorities and technical direction.
