Senior/Staff Robotics SW Engineer – San Francisco – An ambitious Robotics start up

An ambitious Robotics start up based out of San Francisco are looking for a proven Robotics SW Engineer who enjoys solving real-world solutions, working at the intersection of software, electronics, and mechanical systems. This individual will be responsible for driving development of core systems including improved sensing, control, and infrastructure software.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design and implementation for specific features, including motion planning and control SW, sensing and localization systems.
• Increase the robustness & resiliency of robotics software, maintain as well as tune ROS2-based robotics infrastructure
• Support system integration, test, and debugging; participate in demonstrations and pilot deployments
• cross-functional requirements gathering, rapid prototyping to prove concepts, the development of automated tests, using and enhancing simulation environments, and simulation at scale to prove performance.

Requirements

• Experience writing software that works with hardware
• 5+ years professional experience building and shipping production-quality software, with a focus on Linux
• Experience developing software in the areas of motion planning and control for robotics or comparable complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with object manipulation and sensing/perception, localization/state estimation.
• System design experience.
• Demonstrated production level C++, Python (automated testing, Git, CI, Docker, K8s, etc)
