Job summary

Anduril Industries, in California, seeks a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer to provide SME guidance across AD&S propulsion programs. You will optimize manufacturability, drive DFM improvements, and work with design, QA, and supply chain to ensure production-ready propulsion hardware.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in propulsion manufacturing, experience with air-breathing turbines, ramjets, or solid rocket motors, and strong supplier qualification skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 12+ years of propulsion manufacturing/engineering experience with expertise in at least one propulsion type.
• Experience evaluating propulsion designs for manufacturability and translating findings into improvements.
• Experience evaluating or qualifying propulsion suppliers, including special process qualification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as propulsion manufacturing engineering SME across AD&S programs (air-breathing turbines, ramjets, solid rocket motors).
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability and drive design changes to improve producibility.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to translate constraints into feedback.
• Assist in supplier selection and qualification for propulsion hardware.
• Conduct assessments of propulsion suppliers and production readiness evaluations.
• Develop and maintain propulsion manufacturing process requirements and standards.
• Support propulsion system test campaigns from a manufacturing perspective (hardware prep, acceptance criteria).
• Develop should-cost models and cost-driver analyses for propulsion assemblies.
• Collaborate with quality to define inspection plans and process controls for propulsion hardware.
• Align propulsion manufacturing requirements with sourcing strategy and long-lead planning.
• Maintain propulsion manufacturing knowledge with training materials and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers on propulsion manufacturing principles and supplier assessment.
• Travel to production sites and suppliers (~20%).
