Own end-to-end lending product experiences across QuickBooks with a data-driven, experiment-led approach.
Responsibilities
- Own design for a lending product area from problem framing through launch and iteration.
- Cover lending experiences across term loans, lines of credit, marketplace, revenue-based financing, and new lending products, plus the access points that surface them across QuickBooks.
- Define how credit appears within existing user workflows, including invoices, payroll, banking, and cash flow, so offers arrive at the moment of need.
- Set and maintain a high bar for craft in your area: clarity, simplicity, and language customers understand.
- Partner with product and data science to design experiments by shaping hypotheses and interpreting what results would mean, not just variants.
- Read and apply funnel metrics for activation, application, approval, and drop-off to decide what to build next.
- Know when a test can prove an answer versus when qualitative research is the faster path.
- Coordinate across product teams so lending products complement each other rather than compete for the same customer attention.
- Advance patterns and the design system for lending to enable consistent shipping at speed.
- Communicate design rationale to product and engineering partners with a clear recommendation, rather than a menu of options.
- Mentor senior and mid-level designers through critique and shared standards to raise the overall quality bar.
- Use AI in your workflow to prototype, explore, and pressure-test ideas.
- Develop a point of view on where AI meaningfully helps customers versus where it introduces risk in a regulated lending context.
- Design AI-powered experiences to be intuitive, transparent, and trustworthy for a diverse range of users.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of product design experience, preferably on large-scale consumer or small business products.
- Experience with lending, payments, or other financial services is a plus.
- Proven ability to own a product area end to end, from problem framing through launch and iteration.
- Strong interaction and visual design craft, with fluency in design systems.
- Exceptional skill analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and measure outcomes.
- Experience designing for experimentation: shaping tests, interpreting results, and iterating on learnings.
- Ability to communicate through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping, with a narrative that brings stakeholders along.
- Portfolio demonstrating user-centered design principles and mastery of craft.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence Design, Product Management, and Engineering partners.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools into the design workflow to improve quality, speed, depth, or exploration.
