Job description

Overview

People who work for themselves fuel our global economy. In the US, small businesses employ 60% of the workforce and create 80% of new jobs; internationally the stats are even more skewed. But the odds are stacked against them. One of two fails in the first five years, two of three before they can turn ten.

Intuit's Small Business and Self-Employed Group (QuickBooks) is devoted to creating tools and services that dramatically improve the chances of success for small businesses around the world - from mileage tracking to invoicing, from payroll to accounting, from creating new ways to access capital to forging deep connections with experts. Our vision is to be the connected E2E platform that small and medium sized businesses rely on everyday to run and grow their business.

The Team

Today, QuickBooks and Mailchimp bring industry leading solutions to businesses around the world including Accounting, Payroll, Payments and Marketing. The QuickBooks Shared Experiences Team is the team that brings all products together into a cohesive and delightful experience for our customers. Beyond playing a foundational role that amplifies all QuickBooks products, this team is taking the lead in setting the QuickBooks multi-year vision and leading the transformation of a fully reimagined platform fueled by connected data, a connected suite of apps, "Done for you" experiences, and on-demand expertise.

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Staff Product Manager who is passionate about reimagining flagship platforms at scale, leveraging deep technical expertise to create platform enabling systems, and leading across a large organization. This Senior Staff Product Manager will lead the product team focused on "Nailing the Basics", redefining the standards for how the QuickBooks ecosystem is delivering for our customers across all jobs and all audiences.

In this role, you will set the vision and strategy for how we deliver reliable, performant, high quality, and cohesive experiences across all Intuit GBSG (Global Business Solutions Group) products and beyond. Then you'll bring it to life by scaling a central, robust, and cohesive set of playbooks which solve for all jobs. You will partner with a dedicated product team (Design, Engineering, Analytics) as well as other QuickBooks cross functional teams (product, marketing, sales, customer service, legal, and finance).

Responsibilities
  • Create a bold, enduring, and inspiring product vision and strategy, identifying new opportunities based on customer insights, competitive research, and industry trends.
  • Deeply understand small business needs and pain points across diverse industries, sizes, and workflows, as well as QuickBooks' product and service offerings.
  • Systems level thinking: Ability to understand and design for a complex ecosystem. Embrace a platform mindset to develop frameworks ensuring a consistent, cohesive, and scalable set of experiences for all jobs, geographies, and target audiences.
  • Translate strategy into a product roadmap to deliver measurable outcomes. Craft and build the product experiences that enable the launch of experiments and scale launches of the reimagined experience with high quality and speed, accelerating bringing our vision to life.
  • Champion an AI-first and data-powered approach to reimagining the experience, integrating cutting-edge technologies, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence to deliver actionable insights.
  • Highly cross-functional: Exceptional ability to work collaboratively and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including engineering, design, and multiple product teams.
  • Influence the strategies and roadmaps of adjacent product teams in related areas charter, and indirectly drive delivery in aspects outside of your direct scope.
  • Define high-quality success metrics and take an outcome-driven approach to improve engagement, customer benefits, retention, and revenue.
  • Share excellence in PM craft to mentor and develop early career product managers.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years designing and delivering world-class software products as a Product Manager.
  • Demonstrated repeated success in creating innovative products that deliver extraordinary outcomes including leading complex technical platform components.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
  • Capable of decomposing a big vision into bite-size milestones.
  • Track record of leading initiatives across an organization involving multiple product teams.
  • A positive and entrepreneurial mindset; self-aware with a strong desire to learn.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excels in driving cross-functional teams and leading initiatives across an organization involving multiple functions including product, marketing and customer success.
  • Deeply curious and data-driven. Develops and defends strong points-of-view with data, analytics and the voice of the customer.
  • Passionate for solving customer problems (the big ones and the small ones).
  • Undergraduate degree required in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Science, Business or related discipline required; MBA or MS a plus. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
