Job summary

Adobe seeks a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to architect Firefly Foundry's data processing and media-intelligence stack. You will lead the pipelines that enrich and index billions of media assets, and shape the hybrid lexical+vector retrieval layer for agentic search.

You will define multi-year technical direction, mentor engineers, and partner with Applied Science, Product, and AI Platform teams to ensure low latency, scalable, and cost-effective systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in ML, data, or infra engineering with large-scale data processing & retrieval systems.
• Deep expertise in building/searching at scale: vector/ANN, lexical search, hybrid retrieval, ranking.
• Strong data-engineering foundations: Spark/Beam/Flink, data modeling, storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data-processing pipelines transforming media signals into structured, searchable intelligence.
• Contribute to vision/architecture of Firefly Foundry's data platform and search stack.
• Architect hybrid lexical + vector retrieval, multimodal search, ranking, and filtering.
• Enable agentic search with tool interfaces, grounding, and provenance.
