Job summary

Ping Identity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver Java-based identity management features with a focus on security, quality, testability, and performance in a fast-moving agile environment.

You will design large-scale, multi-tenant systems; collaborate with distributed teams across Portland, Canada, and Europe; refine requirements with product management to extend PingIDM; plan and estimate work; enable cloud deployments; and support customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and developing large-scale Java applications.
• Strong understanding of HTTP and RESTful web services.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience with cloud architectures and deployment strategies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience using AI agents to plan, validate, and implement functionality.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale, multi-tenant Java-based identity management products.
• Collaborate with distributed teams in Portland, OR, Canada, and Europe.
• Analyze and elaborate on requirements with product management and architects to enhance PingIDM.
• Plan, estimate, and manage development tasks per business plans.
• Enable successful cloud deployments.
• Work with customer-facing support teams to resolve issues.
