Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Senior Staff Internal Technical Trainer to support Deployables Structures & Mechanisms training. The role focuses on designing and delivering modules, onboarding, and ensuring consistency across programs, with coaching of area trainers.

Qualifications

  • Technical expertise in design, test, or manufacture of spacecraft components
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues
  • Strong MS Office knowledge, specifically with PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel between the Goleta and Oxnard, CA facilities
  • US Citizenship is required

  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious

An organization within Northrop Grumman, Mission Enabling Products (MEP) is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes. Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our Deployables Operating unit is seeking a Senior Staff Internal Technical Trainer to support technical training efforts for the Deployable Structures & Mechanisms portfolio of programs. This portfolio includes production programs of complex motorized composite structural elements that enable remote sensing and communication programs.

This position is 100% on-site and may be located at either our Goleta or Oxnard, CA sites.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Designs, schedules, delivers and tracks technical training

  • Partners with functional managers to develop training materials, and knowledge assessments, for area standard operation procedures (SOP's) and coordinates knowledge assessment
  • Utilizes training authoring and multimedia tools and software for assigned development projects
  • Remain current in training and development research, learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques
  • Provides technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other technical employees
  • Acts as advisor to management, co-workers and customers on advanced technical research studies
  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years relevant experience; OR 12 years relevant experience with a master’s degree; OR 10 years with a PhD

Primary Level Salary Range: $159,400.00 - $239,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
