Job summary

GEICO is seeking a senior engineering leader to provide technical direction across multiple enterprise domains. You will craft and drive a technical roadmap, build and modernize systems, and mentor diverse teams while collaborating with product, customers, and engineering partners.

You will apply deep knowledge of Java, Python, C#, and cloud-native patterns to deliver scalable RESTful services, microservices, and DevOps-enabled solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
10+ years of professional software development experience within a Java framework.
8+ years of experience with architecture and design.
6+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code.
In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches.
Fluency and specialization in at least two modern languages such as Java, C++, Python, or C#, including object-oriented design.
Experience with microservices-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs.
Fluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework.
Experience with PowerShell scripting.
Experience with Azure Portal and application monitoring tools.
In-depth knowledge of datacenter structure and Azure native services.
Experience with Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth.
Experience with Azure Network.
Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production.
Track record of publications in credible conferences and journals.
Ability to design experiments and influence engineering direction and product roadmap.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
