Job summary

GEICO seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and scale the Substantiation Platform, ensuring reliable reconciliation across enterprise sources and high-volume data workflows.

You will lead architecture for substantiation services and APIs, collaborate with Finance, Compliance, Product, and ERP teams, and own end-to-end solutions from design through production with strong observability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software development with staff/principal-level impact.
• 8+ years leading architecture and large initiatives with cross-functional leadership.
• 6+ years cloud-native / distributed systems in production.
• 5+ years high-volume data reconciliation or financial/payments systems.
• 4+ years major cloud platform experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and architectural leadership for substantiation and reconciliation services, APIs, and data paths.
• Build scalable, secure, highly available software for matching, exceptions, and financial controls.
• Drive modernization including evolution away from legacy reconciliation systems.
• Own solutions end-to-end from design to production with quality and observability.
• Align with Product, Finance, Compliance, and Treasury on requirements and outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and influence leadership with clear roadmaps.
