Job summary

Apple is seeking a Sr. Staff / Distinguished Engineer to own the data acquisition platform powering Siri, Spotlight, and Apple Maps. You will work at exabyte scale, directing crawl, storage, and ML-driven data value decisions across multiple teams and initiatives.

You will influence architecture, ML strategy, and data governance to ensure high-quality data feeds for model training and search ranking, while mentoring engineers and shaping the organization’s long-term direction.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating distributed systems at large scale.
• Experience applying machine learning to data quality, ranking, relevance, or prioritization in production.
• Track record of setting technical direction across multiple teams as a senior lead.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute technical strategy for Apple’s web-scale data acquisition platform.
• Lead ML-driven decisions for what data to crawl and how to value it.
• Shape storage/compute architecture for scalable and efficient downstream use.
