Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer focused on Terraform and Google Cloud Platform. You will enable GCP infrastructure for AI and data analytics, build reusable templates, and support data movement and reporting.

The role requires strong Terraform/Cloud experience, deep GCP skills, and the ability to operate in a regulated manufacturing context. Anti-fragmented processes and collaboration with analytics teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Terraform experience, preferably with Terraform Cloud.
• Strong hands-on GCP experience with BigQuery, Dataplex, Datastream, and storage.
• Familiarity with Google AI and Gemini offerings.
• 13+ years of cloud and infrastructure experience preferred.
• Kubernetes expertise and proficiency with VMs, Cloud Run, and serverless.
• GitOps and DevOps experience with GitHub, GitHub Runners, Backstage or Roadie, ArgoCD, and Cloud Deploy.
• Database familiarity including BigQuery, Snowflake, MongoDB, and Cloud SQL.
• Strong understanding of VPCs, load balancers, firewalls, and cloud networking.
• Experience in regulated industries is a plus.
• Excellent documentation and knowledge sharing practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize GCP infrastructure with Terraform Cloud to support AI and data analytics workloads.
• Collect manufacturing process data and enable secure movement into GCP services including BigQuery, Dataplex, Datastream, and cloud storage.
• Partner with Product Performance and Data & Analytics to build reusable templates and patterns that accelerate delivery.
• Perform architectural design, reviews, and implementation aligned to best practices for networking, security, and cost efficiency.
• Enable and support operational readiness in DNA wrangle environments.
• Enable and support Cloud Spanner in mfg-dataanalytics and DNA wrangle environments.
• Enable notebooks and DBT Python in DNA projects.
• Enable the GCP mfg-dataanalytics project to support Product Performance innovation.
• Create and update Product Performance sandbox environments and iterate on improvements.
• Assist in building DNA medallion leveling templates.
• Support Landing Zone phase 2 with AI feature flags, enhanced AI service templates, and AI example sandboxes.
• Collaborate with the Cloud Platform team to develop and implement lab-level environment strategy.
• Contribute to security and compliance practices including IAM, encryption, logging, and auditing.
• Document designs, standards, and runbooks and mentor team members.

Our client is entering Phase 2 of a Manufacturing Traceability program and requires a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer focused on Terraform and Google Cloud Platform. The engineer will enable GCP infrastructure for AI and data analytics, build reusable templates, and support data movement and reporting. The role partners with Product Performance and Data & Analytics to implement infrastructure-as-code through Terraform Cloud, accelerate operational readiness, and provide cloud services that back analytics, AI enablement, and regulated manufacturing use cases.
