Job summary

Suno is hiring a Design Engineer to shape the future of music creation at the intersection of design and code. This in-person role sits in NYC or LA, collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineers to prototype, build, and refine user-facing features for web and mobile.

We value craft, speed, and experimentation, and seek someone who loves both designing interfaces and implementing them, with 5+ years of experience and a passion for music.

Qualifications

• 5+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) designing and building consumer products.
• Mobile UI expertise with iOS frameworks (SwiftUI/UIKit).

Responsibilities

• Take ideas end-to-end from conception to production, including design and implementation.

About The Role

We're hiring a Design Engineer to help shape the future of music creation by bringing product experiences to life through both design and code. This is a highly collaborative role sitting at the intersection of Product Design and Engineering, focused on turning ideas into polished, interactive experiences that delight millions of users.

You'll partner closely with other designers, product managers, and engineers to prototype, build, and refine user-facing features across our web and mobile platforms. We care deeply about craft, speed, and experimentation, and we're looking for someone who is equally excited about designing interfaces as they are about implementing them.

What You'll Do

• Take ideas end-to-end from conception to production. You drive creation whether it's collaboration in Figma, a novel proof of concept, or the code that turns concept into reality.
• Strike a balance between proactive ownership and autonomy with a deeply collaborative spirit, working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and others.
• Hold an incredibly high standard for quality and craft. You care about the little details (pixel-perfection, microinteractions, motion design) that add up to excellence.
• Think in systems and patterns. You’ll help establish our design system to ensure consistency and quality across Product Design and Engineering.
• Experiment rapidly with AI-powered workflows and creative tools that push the boundaries of what the team can accomplish together.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) of experience designing and building exceptional consumer products. Your portfolio showcases thoughtful design and shipped product experiences.
• Mobile UI expertise. You craft delightful interfaces with iOS frameworks like SwiftUI and UIKit, and anything else that helps you design and build best-in-class mobile experiences.
• A bias for action. You thrive as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment where you can wear many hats and bring your ideas to life.
• Comfort with ambiguity. You’re always learning and growing, and can help bring clarity to a fast-moving problem space with more questions than answers.
• A love for music (listening, exploring, making) is a huge plus.

• This is an in-person role working at our NYC or LA office.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $220K – $280K + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k)
