Nuro in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior/Staff Controls Engineer to translate planned trajectories into safe, real‑world motions for L4 autonomous driving. You’ll design and deploy production controls software that runs on vehicles and collaborate with autonomy, hardware and systems teams across the globe.

MS or PhD in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace or robotics, 5+ years in controls at scale, deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control theory, and strong embedded C/C++

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, or robotics.
• 5+ years of industry experience developing and deploying automated driving controls at scale.
• Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics and controls theory.
• Strong C/C++ programming and embedded systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-level control software following safety standards.
• Integrate controls stack with new vehicle platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers across hardware, software, and testing teams.
