Job summary

Center-For-Family-Representation seeks a Senior Staff Attorney to provide leadership and supervision while maintaining strong litigation and client counseling skills in family law matters.

The role includes supervising one to two staff attorneys, assisting in case development, and helping with program expansion, grant work, and strategic planning. A commitment to DEI work is expected.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience representing indigent parents in Article 10/TPR family court proceedings.
• Strong programmatic skills and ability to model best practices.
• Willingness to take on a leadership role and oversee staff.
• Well organized to manage caseload and additional responsibilities.
• Commitment to CFR’s DEI work.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of one to two staff attorneys or law graduates.
• Back-up to supervisors on writing assignments and court appearances.
• Assist in intake and in-court support across CFR offices.
• Lead routine supervision meetings and participate in CFR-wide committees.
• Recruit and program law externs and fellows; coordinate internships.
• Assist in grant management and strategic planning.
• Represent CFR in external policy efforts and informed priorities.
• Support development efforts and input on internal protocols.
• Provide second-seat opportunities for newer attorneys and lead on selected cases.
• Intake/sup-of-the-day supervision in court.
