Atherton & Associates, LLP in Modesto, CA seeks a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our Client Advisory Services team and support growth. You will manage financial processes, prepare client reports, and assist with budgets and payroll processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or relevant field, or commensurate experience.
• 3+ years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
• GAAP proficiency preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and MS Word/Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good customer service and collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage financial processes per firm guidelines and policies.
• Prepare client financial reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Manage and reconcile client accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile sales and inventory reports.
• Assist in creating budgets and month-end close.
• Train and supervise less experienced accountants.
• Assist clients with accounting setup, data migration, and chart of accounts.
• Track fixed asset activity and depreciation schedules.
• Process payroll and prepare quarterly payroll/sales tax filings.
• Support additional accounting and finance projects as needed.
