The role oversees Accounts Payable and supports the Accounting Manager with day-to-day tasks. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 3+ years of related experience are required, with Intacct and MS Office proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; advanced certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of related accounting experience.
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures and schedules.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts across entities; prepare journal entries.
  • Perform account analysis and monthly reconciliations on balance sheet and P&L for multiple subsidiaries.
  • Review, reconcile and post payroll journal entries.
  • Assist with cash management activities including wires, ACH, and checks.

Role Description

The Senior Staff Accountant position is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of Aderant’s financial statements and reports. The Senior Staff Accountant ensures the accuracy of financial transactions and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. They will perform general accounting tasks on a day-to-day and recurring basis. They will work to maintain and improve financial processes. The Senior Staff Accountant will oversee and provide guidance & support to the Accounts Payable Specialist with their day-to-day responsibilities. This is a full-time, permanent position in our Corporate Headquarters (located in Atlanta, GA), reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures and schedules
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts across entities, research discrepancies, and prepare appropriate journal entries for reconciling items. Post standard, adjusting and reversing journal entries
  • Perform account analysis and monthly reconciliations on balance sheet and P&L accounts for multiple subsidiaries. Perform account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and intercompany accounts
  • Review, reconcile and post payroll journal entries
  • Analyze and record necessary prepaid expenses, accruals and fixed asset activity
  • Assist with cash management activities including payment disbursement approval for processing of wires, ACH transactions and occasional checks
  • Research and respond to accounting inquiries and other ad-hoc reporting on a timely basis
  • Reconcile, prepare and file tax returns (Sales and Use tax, GST, VAT, property tax)
  • Assist with internal and external audit and corporate tax requests
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, advanced certification is a plus
  • Minimum of 3+ years of related accounting experience
  • Experience with software or technology company is a plus
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency experience preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards and practices
  • Detail-oriented and deadline driven. Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Have a Customer Service mindset
  • Must have a professional attitude and be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Experience with accounting systems; knowledge of Intacct is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
