Job summary

arrivia is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its general ledger team. In this hands-on role, you will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and analyze financial data to support month-end processes.

You will own accounting for a revenue stream and assist with annual audits. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of accounting experience, along with strong technology skills including ERP systems like Acumatica.

Job description

As a Senior Staff Accountant at arrivia, you will be a core member of the general ledger team, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and analyzing general ledger accounts to support the monthly close. You will report to the Accounting Manager and work alongside other senior and staff accountants.

This is a hands‑on role with real ownership. Beyond standard balance sheet work, you will own the accounting for a revenue stream, support the annual audit, and have a genuine say in how the team improves its processes and controls.

What You’ll Own

• Journal Entries: Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger accurately, timely, and completely in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Revenue Stream Accounting: Own the accounting for a revenue stream in addition to standard balance sheet entries.
• Monthly Close: Work with your team to complete the close accurately and on schedule.
• Reconciliations: Complete the monthly balance sheet reconciliations assigned to you, and assist with the monthly balance sheet review.
• Audit and Tax Support: Assist with the annual audit engagement, including interim and field testing, and support quarterly and annual tax requests.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
• Standards and Best Practices: Help implement best practices and standardized procedures across the accounting function.
• System Projects: Participate in system implementations and upgrades that enhance financial reporting and internal controls.
• Variance Analysis: Work with Finance colleagues to identify the drivers behind monthly P&L variances.
• Team Support: Provide backup for team members when needed.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field of study.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with exposure to generally accepted accounting principles and accounting pronouncements.
• Strong technology skills, including ERP systems such as Acumatica and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly organized and flexible, with the ability to prioritize and work effectively across multiple tasks.
• Comfort communicating with colleagues at all levels of the company.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Or an equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role.
