Job summary

Midwest Family Office, a subsidiary of MTC Holding Corporation, seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to lead the monthly and year-end close, prepare financial statements, and strengthen accounting processes. Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Review, reconcile, and analyze complex accounts, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable and payable, and intercompany transactions.
• Analyze revenue and expense trends, prepare variance analyses, and communicate insights to clients.
• Oversee invoice coding, account setup, account reconciliations, and monthly bank reconciliations; verify deposits and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage accounts receivable collections and oversee accounts payable, purchasing, and invoicing processes.
• Support external auditors and tax preparers with schedules, documentation, and year-end financial data.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow monitoring.
• Partner with software vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain and improve accounting systems.
• Apply GAAP and accounting best practices; identify and implement process improvements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff and perform other related duties as assigned.
