Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead assigned aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions follow GAAP and policies.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and schedules.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation and responding to requests.
  • Assist with sales and use tax, property tax, and other filings as applicable.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and internal controls.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Your Role as a Senior Accountant

This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records through the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of financial information. This position plays a key role in the monthly and year-end close processes, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, support audits, and provide financial insights that help drive informed business decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to continuous process improvements.

This position reports directly to the VP of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead assigned aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit requests.
  • Assist with sales and use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings, as applicable.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis).
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite experience preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to streamline accounting processes.
Compensation

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year commensurate with experience.
